WELCOME, I’m David.
Author, Worship leader, Husband, Father, Caregiver

Howdy, Folks!
David Musser is a writer, worship leader, and stay-at-home caregiving #GirlDad of three. His youngest daughter, Izzie, was born with full trisomy 18, a rare chromosomal disorder that forever changed his family’s story. Through seasons of loss, love, and redemption, David writes to help others see God’s goodness even in suffering.
He and his wife, Katie, live in Lexington, Kentucky, where they homeschool their daughters, Ellie and Addie, and serve in a house church community. When he’s not writing, David enjoys the outdoors, good books, chess, and finding great deals at Costco.

Meet Izzie
The name Isabel means “pledged to God.” Long before she was born, we knew she belonged to Him—and that we were never truly in control.
Izzie arrived weighing just four pounds and spent her first 49 days in the hospital, battling seizures, apneic episodes, and feeding through a nasal tube. At three weeks old, a congenital heart defect caused a near-fatal pulmonary hemorrhage.
But Izzie is a fighter—a beater of odds. After heart surgery and a G-tube placement, she finally came home to the delight of her two big sisters. Despite an “almost always fatal” diagnosis, she continues to defy expectations and has proven that she has the capacity for the fullness of life.

Learn To Play Guitar (The Cool Way)
Worship—and learning to lament through worship—has been a cornerstone of our caregiving journey with Izzie. When she was in the NICU, we played music and sang for hours every day. Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs (Col. 3:16) became the soundtrack of our days and kept our souls anchored in the goodness of God.
If you’ve ever wanted to learn to play the guitar but bogged down with G, C, and D chords, I’d love to help! I’ve created a free guide to get you started—so you can be playing your favorite hymns in minutes.
I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
