I’ve been leading worship since middle school. Early on, I learned the basic chords—but guitar eventually lost its spark. My wife once told me I was good at leading songs, but not necessarily at leading worship. That insight eventually changed everything.

In 2017, I reinvented my approach, teaching myself an alternate tuning that unlocked new sounds and freedom in worship. The guitar came alive. Now, playing draws me into God’s presence and my focus shifts from leading worship to just simply worship.

This alternate tuning is simpler, richer, and honestly, sounds better than standard tuning!
